CAMPBELL, Maurice was born on October 7, 1870 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Son of S. S. and Mary (Bachman) Campbell.

J. Editorial staff New York Herald, 1893-1898. War correspondent for New York Herald during Spanish-American War. Entered theatrical business, producer of plays, 1899.

Captain United States Army, 1917. Served with fourth Regular Division, France, 1918-1919, St. Michael, Argonne and Army of Occupation.

Produced and directed motion pictures for Famous Players Lasky Corporation, 1919-1924. Produced for various other firms, 1924-1926. Entered Prohibition Service (Treasurer Department) Zone Supervisor, charge of Great Lakes Zone, 1926.

Later jurisdiction extended to include North Atlantic Zone. Appointed Prohibition Administrator, second District, (Metropolitan Area), since 1927.
