Son of Adolf Salomon, banker, and Magdalena Berta Schulthess.
Career
He was a mathematician until 1889. From 1889 to 1921 he worked for the Swiss Railways.
Achievements
He was co-founder and first president of the Schachgesellschaft Zürich, the oldest chess club in the world. He was joint Swiss champion in 1889, 1890 and 1901, and defeated Dietrich Duhm in 1900.
