Career
He was installed as vice-chancellor on 19 August 2008, replacing Njabulo Ndebele. He is a qualified medical doctor and was previously Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand. Price has an Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae degree from the University of the Witwatersrand which he obtained in 1979.
A Bachelor (Honours) Group of the European People's Party (Christian-Democratic Group) (Oxfordshire 1983).
An M.Sc in Community Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. And a Diploma in Occupational Health from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Max Price is Jewish.
