Career
Maksim Mayorov attracted the attention of National Hockey League scouts when playing for Neftyanik Leninogorsk in 2006-2007. He was rated 4th over-all among European players by the National Hockey League Central Scouting. The Columbus Blue Jackets chose him 94th over-all in the 4th round of the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
He started the 2007-2008 season with Ak Bars Kazan 3rd level team but was elevated to the main Russian Super League team
He current plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League after being called up from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League on January 3, 2009.
