After passing his examinations at Gymnasium Grammar School in Vaduz, he studied at the European Business School near Frankfurt, Germany, and graduated in 1993. In 1998 he completed an Master of Business Administration degree at Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.
In 2003, he began the management of the German office of JPMorgan Partners. Since the spring of 2006, he has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Liechtenstein Global Trust. Professionally, he is referred to as Prince Max, rather than Prince Maximilian.
They have one son:
Prince Alfons Constantin Maria of Liechtenstein (born 18 May 2001, London).
