Dr Md Junayed Hasan is a Bangladeshi born research scientist with a track record of success in digital condition monitoring (CBM). He has a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering with half a decade of experience in data-driven fault diagnosis, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and signal processing. He is one of the pioneers to introduce the concept of transfer learning with numerous experiments in the field of CBM.
Background
He was born in Jessore, Bangladesh, in 1993. His father Anowar Hasan was a civil engineer in Bangladesh, and his mother Jahanara Begum was a housewife. During his early teenage years, he was captivated by poetry and literature. He was a frequent contributor to one of the most prominent Bangladeshi daily newspapers. Due to his popularity, he chose the pen name "Ghasphooring" for his writings. In 2011, he suddenly stopped writing. Nonetheless, his fan base recalls him fondly to this day.
Dr Junayed achieved his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering in 2016 from the BRAC University in Bangladesh. Under the supervision of the renowned Korean professor Jongmyon Kim, he began his doctoral research on condition-based monitoring (CBM) in 2017. Due to his extraordinary efforts, he earned a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Ulsan (UOU), Republic of Korea, in 4.5 years. During his doctoral studies, he was awarded the prestigious Brain Korea fellowship from the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea, as well as numerous research awards for his outstanding contributions to the scientific community.

Dr Junayed has a strong background in applied Condition-based Monitoring (CBM) with Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), and classical signal processing approaches, as well as an extensive research experience in the field of medical signal and image processing using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) for classification and semantic segmentation. Currently he is working towards creating a sustainable-ocean-based economy by targeting the net-zero challenges related to transparent ocean, and marine sciences.
