He graduated from the Leningrad College of Performing Arts (1930, the course of S.E. Radlov).
Career
In 1931-1937, the director of the Moscow Chamber Theater. In 1938-1942, the art director of the Chelyabinsk (1946-1951) Kuibyshev theaters. In 1956-1962, the main director Gorkovsky, in 1953-1956, 1967-1969 - Voronezh drama theaters. Since the 80's he lived in the USA.
Among the productions: "Port Arthur" Ivan Popov and Alexander Stepanov (1953), "Ghosts" Henrik Ibsen (1954), "Talents and admirers" Alexander Ostrovsky (1954), "Your Wealth" Konstantin Lokotkov (1954), "From Poltava" Ilya Selvinsky (1955), "The Gambler" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (1956), "Intervention" Lev Slavin (1967), "Meshchan"(1968), "The Counterfeit Coin" (1968) Maxim Gorky, "The Ice Goes Into the Ocean" Peter Lebedenko (1968),"Scarlet Horsemen" Vladimir Korablinov (1969) and others.
