Melanie Wiggins is an American land manager and author.
Background
Melanie Wiggins was born on October 15, 1934, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, United States, in the family of Ralph J. and Melanie (Holt) Speer. Melanie Wiggins is descended from Charles Taylor Cade, who owned large quantities of land in Texas’s Bolivar Peninsula at the turn of the twentieth century.
Education
In 1956 Melanie received Bachelor of Arts at Hollins College, and then attended Newcomb College.
Since 1978 Melanie manages 12,000 acres of family land on Texas’s Bolivar Peninsula. She spends her spare time on writing books.
Achievements
Melanie is famous for her nonfiction books "They Made Their Own Law: Stories of Bolivar Peninsula" and "Torpedoes in the Gulf: Galveston and the U-Boats, 1942-43."
