Melville "Mel" De Lloyd born in Resolven, was a Welsh rugby union and professional rugby league football player of the 1930s, "40s and "50s, playing club level rugby union for Resolven Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and Llanelli Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and playing representative level rugby league for Wales, and at club level for Warrington, and Keighley, as a stand-off/five-eighth, id est (that is) number 6, he died in Resolven.
