He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1989 from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Health & Population Welfare during 1990-1993. He was elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections in 2002, and was Minister for Education in 2003.
