Michael Bradley Barrett is an American cinematographer.

Background

Barrett was born in Riverside, California.

Education

Afterwards he moved to New York City and studied film at the Columbia University.

Career

He is best known for his work on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Ted. In 1992, he met the cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa and talked to him about Figueroa"s work for the 1947 film Louisiana perla. In the same year he started to study art history at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he took film classes.

He shot first music videos and short films.

Foreign his thesis he choose Allen Daviau as his advisor. Daviau also recommended him for bigger projects.

Starting in 2001 Barrett worked for the television series Computer Society of India: Crime Scene Investigation.

Achievements

  • In 2002 he received an ASC Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in the category Movie of the Week or Pilot (Network) for his work on the Computer Society of India pilot Cross Jurisdictions.
