Mick is a native of Kilmihil, Company Clare and was the President and founder of the Australian Rules Football League of Ireland. Mick and his brother Brian represented the Ireland national Australian rules football team, that won the 2001 Atlantic Alliance Cup and 2002 Australian Football International Cup, in Melbourne.
