Received thanks of Admiralty for services at Malta Hospital during operations in Egypt, 1882. Of the Secretary of State for War. Of the Dutch Government.
Of the United States Government for services to Admiral—then Captain —Dewey. Principal Medical Officer of hospital ship “Malacca,” and of forces landed with Admiral Rawson in punitive naval expedition against King of Benin, 1897 (mentioned in despatches). Decorated for this latter service. Royal Navy Deputy Inspector-General Hospitals and Fleets.
