Hirschberg, Michael Henry was born on April 12, 1847 in Newburgh, New York, United States. Son of Henry M. and Fannie (Francks) Hirschberg.
Graduate Newburgh Free Academy, 1862. Studied law in private office.
Admitted to bar, 1868. Special company judge, Orange Company, 1875, district attorney, 1889 (3 terms). Delegate Constitutional Convention, 1894.
Justice Supreme Court of the New York, 1896-1917. Designated to Appellate Division 2d Department, at Brooklyn, by Governor Roosevelt, 1900. Appointed presiding justice, by Governor Odell, January 1904.
