Michael John Dowdall, British Neurochemist, researcher. Achievements include two findings of note which are now in all standard neuroscience/neurochemistry textbooks were the discoveries of the presence of purine nucleotides in the synaptic vesicles of nerve terminals and a high affinity uptake system for choline, a neurotransmitter precursor, in cholinergic nerve endings. Member European Society for Neurochemistry.
