The firm was founded by Russell East. Watson in New Brunswick in 1909. In 1918 he was joined in the practice by his brother, A. Dudley Watson, and the firm became known as R.E. & Anno Domini Watson.
In 1950, Edward L. Webster joined the firm as an associate, later becoming a partner.
