Michail Anisimovich Ivanov is a Belarusian physicist and educator whose work has addressed particle physics, gravitational physics, cosmology, composite fermions, and a model of low-energy quantum gravity. He has taught physics at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics since 1994 and has published research and books on gravitation and cosmology.
Background
Michail Anisimovich Ivanov was born on February 6, 1948, in the Mogilev Region of Belarus. He moved to Minsk in 1961, where he has lived and worked for most of his life. He is the son of Anisim Efimovich Ivanov and Mariya Filimonovna Ivanova. His documented family includes his wife, Adelya Sergeevna, and five children.
Education
Ivanov studied physics at Belarus State University and graduated in 1972. He later completed doctoral research in physics at the same university, receiving a Ph.D. in 1982. His academic training provided the foundation for his subsequent work in theoretical physics, particle physics, gravitational physics, and cosmology.
Career
Ivanov began his professional career in 1972 as a researcher at the Research Institute for Applied Physics Problems of Belarus State University, where he worked for approximately twenty-two years. From 1994, he continued his career as an educator and professor at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics in Minsk. His teaching has included general physics courses in mechanics and thermodynamics, electrodynamics and optics, and quantum physics. Alongside teaching, he has pursued theoretical research on composite fundamental fermions, gravitation, cosmological redshifts, photon-graviton interactions, and low-energy quantum gravity. His later work presents gravity as a screening effect associated with a background of strongly interacting gravitons and examines possible cosmological consequences of that model.
Achievements
Developed and published a theoretical model of low-energy quantum gravity in which gravity is interpreted as a screening effect produced by a background of strongly interacting gravitons.
Applied the low-energy quantum-gravity model to cosmological redshifts, luminosity-distance relations, photon attenuation, and interpretations of cosmological observations without dark energy.
Maintained a long-term program of research linking particle physics, gravitational physics, and cosmology, including work on composite fundamental fermions and discrete symmetries.

Views
Ivanov's theoretical work is based on the view that gravity may be modeled through quantum interactions with a background of strongly interacting gravitons rather than by quantizing general relativity. In his low-energy quantum-gravity model, gravitational attraction is treated as a screening effect, while photon-graviton interactions are proposed as possible explanations for cosmological redshifts and related observational phenomena.
