Kustinsky researched the monuments near Smolensk, the territory near West Dvina, Dnepr and Volga. Found a lot information about Borisov stones (XII century). In his village made a museum. He was the member of archeological community (1874), the member of a first meeting of archeologists in Moscow (1869).
Career
He examined the monuments of Vitebsk region. In 1850-1890 made the archeological map of Vitebsk region. Made a friendship with the archeologists from Leningrad and Moscow. He was the first who started to take photos of the process of excavations.
