Michel DJIDINGAR was born in 1928 at Dono-Manga, Chad.
He had little schooling
Elected to the new Legislative Assembly on May 31, 1959, he was an active supporter of President Tombalbaye’s Chad Progressive Party in the March 4, 1962, electoral landslide and was elected to the National Assembly. Appointed Minister of Finance, Posts and Telecommunications in 1961, he became successively Minister of Finance, Economy, Posts and Telecommunications (1962), Minister of Finance, Posts and Telecommunications (1964), Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (1965) and Minister of Public Works, Posts and Telecommunications (from April 1966). On May 23, 1971, he found a congenial post in Agricultural and Rural Development. Seven months later he was confirmed as the top official at the Agricultural Ministry.
He was also for a time one of Chad’s representatives at the Senate of the French Community, a governor at the International Monetary Fund, and a member of the board of both Air Afrique and the Central Bank for Equatorial Africa and the Cameroon.
Self-educated, he has a great knack for mixing and good contacts that have landed him many important board jobs with international organizations. He also had a spell as a successful Finance and Economics Minister, but his heart lies in the land, and it is in the country where he has mastered local politics and where his real interests lie. Hence his satisfaction with his appointment as Agricultural Minister.
