Deputy Director, Institute of Russia Lit., USSR Academy of Science, and member, Editorial Board, “Izvestiya Academy of Sciences USSR” (News of the USSR Academy of Sciences). 1946-1958 corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science. Mainly studies links between Russ, and foreign literature.
Author of many works on Russ, classics of 18th and 19th c. and on European and American writers.
