Career
From 1895 worked at Donbas mines. From 1905 lectured at various higher educational establishments. From 1923 professor, Moscow Mining Academy (Moscow Mining Institute).
From 1932 worked at Institute of Mine Mech (now Mining Institute), Ukraine (Academy of Sciences, which now bears his name. Devised system of dynamic control to give mine elevators constant winching radius. Developed harmonic lift system which guaranteed full dynamic counterpoising of mine elevators with heavy terminal cables.
Devised method of calculating mine turbines on the basis of hydrodynamic analogy.
