According to the script of Kalugin, the cartoon “Brave hare” was created. Member of the Great Patriotic War. As part of the 303rd rifle division, he fought near the city of Voronezh, acted on front-line area. He died in battle, was buried in a mass grave near the experimental station of the Voronezh State Agrarian University. Kalugin's front-line letters to his wife (1941-1942) were published by E.V. Vladimirov in the "Voronezh Courier" newspaper (2008, January 26).
