After graduate worked at metallurgical plants in Alapayevsk, Taganrog, et cetera 1920-1927 lecturer, from 1927 professor, Petrograd Polytech Institute. 1939-1953 correspondent member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences.
From 1953 head, Leningrad Laboratory, Institute of Metallurgy, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Helped to plan new' metallurgical plants. Specialized in the physiochemical principles of steel alloying processes, particularly the acid open-hearth process.
