LUKONIN, Mikhail was born in 1918 in Stalingrad.
1937 graduated Stalingrad Teachers’ Institute. 1941 graduated Gorky Lit. Institute, USSR Union of Writers, Moscow.
S. his youth member, various literature circles. 1957 was criticized at May Plenum of USSR Union of Writers. 1958 joined Editorial Board of almanac “Den russkoy poezii” which was closed down soon after.
Translates Kazakh and Tatar poetry into Russia. 1931-1935 at Stalingrad Tractor Plant, then member, edition staff of Stalingrad Communist Youth League newspaper “Molodoy leninets”. 1939-1940 volunteer in ski battalion during Soviet- Finnish war.
