1902 graduate Kazan’ Veterinary Institute.
After graduate served in Russian Army and took part in Russo-Japanese War. 1905 — 1 1 lecturer, from 1911 professor, Chair of Microbiology, Kazan’ Veterinary Institute. 1923-1928 professor, Kazan’ Physicians Institute.
1929-1935 head Laboratory for the Study of Lysates, All-Union Institute of Experimental Medical, Leningrad. 1932-1935 also professor, Moscow Zooveterinary Institute. Then professor, Chair of Microbiology and Pathophysiology, Moscow Veterinary Academy.
Specialized in methods of preparing organic drugs (histolysates) and the indications and counter-indications for their use in treating diseases of farm animals. 1926-1928 developed the theory of the action of histolysates (the products of the artificial break-down of tissue) on animals and manitoba Hyothesized that animal histolysates could be used for treating various diseases on the grounds that such treatment would restore normal metabolism.
Did valuable research on spermotoxins, which contributed to the knowledge of cytotoxins and cytotoxic stimulation. Wrote some 50 research works.
