VREVSKIY, Mikhail was born on February 15, 1871.
1895 graduate Saint St. Petersburg University.
From 1898 assistant to Professor Konovalov at Saint St. Petersburg University. From 1913 professor, Saint St. Petersburg University, where he founded a separate Physical Chemistry Laboratory. From 1921 also head Chemical Department, Lesgaft Sei Social.
From 1924 worked for Commission to Reform Russian Alcoholimetry, Main Board of Weights and Measures. Studied solution theory, thermodynamic theory of binary liquid systems of all concentrations. Established connection between temperature and composition of liquid vapor and the partial tensions of its components.
Also established conection between temperature and composition of the vapor of azeotropic mixtures. Developed a general theory covering all cases in the equilibrium of interchangeable phases. Made a systematic study of the relation between temperature and the properties of binary liquid systems
1927 he and British Public Nikol’skiy published their new method for determining the latent evaporation point of solutions at a constant temperature. 1927 also devised new method for determining partial vapor tension and degree of dissociation in solution vapors containing molecules of the associated component. 1929 proposed a theory for the evaporation of solutions and an equation for determining the evaporation point of binary solutions.
His methods and findlings have been incorporated in physicochemical manuals and reference books
