1900 graduate Physics and Mathematics Faculty, Saint St. Petersburg University.
Career
1903-1940 worked for Geological Committee and for research institutes which were formed from this in 1930. 1918-1922 co-founder and professor, also dean, Physics and Mathematics Faculty, Oryol University. Specialized in paleozoic flora.
Described many new species and genera and made a basic study of fossil plants in many areas. Established Permian age of Kuznets Basin’s main coal seams. Member of many sci soc, including Russian Paleontological Social, All-Union Mineralogical Social, London Geological Social and Belgian Geological Social.
