After 1917 October Revol worked for Permanent Polar Commission, Commission to Study the Natural Production Resources of Russia, Commission for the Study and Practical Utilization of the Russian North, et cetera
Helped to equip first Soviet Polar expeditions. Head, High Seas Department, Russian Hydrological Institute. Carried out hydrographic and hydrological research and magnetic observations in Novaya Zemlya, Pechora, et cetera
Compiled maps showing magnetic deviation of various seas. 1890 drew up meridional tables for compiling Mercator-projection maps. 1900 compiled tables of true solar azimuth north of 60°.
A Cape in Novaya Zemlya’s Schubert Bay and a peak on Sakhalin Island are named for him.
