1925 first work printed. Active in Belorussian national and soc-revol movement in Western Belorussian (until 1939 part of Poland). Several times arrested and imprisoned.
His first verse collection “The Rustling Pine Woods” (1929) was confiscated by the Polish police. The same fate befell his second collection in 1934. 1939 taken prisoner by Germans while serving with Polish Army.
1941 escaped and joined Belorussian partisans. 1950’s worked for Grodno oblast newspaper “Grodnenskaya pravda”.

Member, Belorussian Writers’ Union.
