Background

Gorecki, Mikolaj was born on February 1, 1971 in Katowice, Poland. Arrived in United States, 1998. Son of Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki and Jadwiga Gorecka.

Education

Master in Composition, Academy Music, Katowice, 1995. Doctor of Music, Indiana University, Bloomington, 2000.

Career

In 1996, he received two scholarships from The Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada. In 2000 he received a doctorate in composition from Indiana University, Bloomington in the United States. In 2001-2002 he lectured at McGill University in Montreal.

He currently lives and works in the United States.
