Education

Educated Bleak Hill Seminary, Culpeper County, and Culpeper Male Academy. Doctor of Medicine University of Virginia, 1875. Bachelor of Divinity, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1881.

Career

Ordained Baptist ministry, 1881. Pastor successively Montgomery County, Virginia, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, East Church, Louisville, and Broadway Church, Knoxville, to 1903. President Carson and Newman College, 1903-1911.

Pastor Edgefield, later Southside Church, Spartanburg, South Carolina., until 1918, Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, since 1918. Wrote brochures “Sanctification as Taught in the Scriptures,” “Adventism or Millenarianism, Pre—and Post—”. Also Questions on the Bible for Little Folks, and Primary Catechism on the Bible.
