Instructor mathematics, Tufts College, 1886-1889. Assistant engineer West End St. Railway Company, Boston, 1889-1891. Chief engineer Brooklyn City Railroad Company, 1891-1896.

Assistant chief engineer, 1896-1899, chief engineer, 1899-1906, Metropolitan St. Railway Company and its successors. Consulting engineer until 1935. Now retired.
