Superintendent schools and instructor in Pennsylvania Academy Fine Arts, 1892-1894.
Studied in Colorossi, Delacluse and Julien academics, Paris, 1894-1899.
Exhibited in Societe des Artistes Francais, and in all large exhibitions of New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington and Chicago. Specialty portraits; executed mural decorations for Court of the Seasons, Panama-Pacific Exposition, San Francisco. Experimented with various techniques in landscape studies, 1920-1945.
Served with American Red Cross in Europe, World War I.
Married Margaret Corliss Moore, 1894. Children: John Townsend, Anna Moore, Thomas Leggett.
