Minetaro Yamanaka was born on December 15, 1885 in Osaka, Gifu, Japan.
Minetaro Yamanaka graduated from the Army Staff College.
In 1913, became chief staff officer of Sun Yat-sen, Chinese leader, and participated in the Chinese revolution and took active leadership in the offensive against Yuan Shih-kai, then Generalissimo. To achieve this aim, visited for one year (from 1917) various governments in Europe and America to negotiate for their assistance, but the mission was a failure.
Before this period wrote a love story in the Osaka Mainichi Shimbun (1905), recommended by Yuho Kikuchi, and since then wrote humanistic novels such as Jonan (Troubles With Women), Bomeiki (Note Of A Refugee) and others in the magazine Chuo-Koron and various women's magazines. After 1931, engaged in writing detective, adventurous stories for boys and girls including Tekichii Odan San Byakuri (800 Miles Across Enemy Territory) and Aziano Akebono (The Dawn of Asia) which stressed the undaunted spirit of adventure.
