In 1915 graduated from Nihon Dental College, in 1918 from Harvard University.
In 1919 served as dentist in the French Army in World War I and thereafter continued to study dentistry in various countries in Europe. After returning I became professor at his alma mater and established lectureships on history of dental science and battlefield dentistry. Since 1948 was president and since 1941 chief director of Nihon Dental College. Since 1928 engaged in art movement of Shinko Bijutsu Shuto Bijutsuten (Exhibition of New Rising Capital Art Society), Musenten Bijutsu (Art Society of Nonselection Exhibition) and Sanka (The Third Art Department Society).
