Career
Began his professional career as an actor with the Otojiro Kawakami Troupe. Shot to fame with his performance as Ting Jochang in the drama Nisshin Senso (Sino-Japanese War). Other successful dramas in which he played leading roles were Sabre, Yadorigi and Konjiki Yasha. Was classed among the leading actors of the new school.
