Career
Pursuing a career in acting throughout the 1990s, Doty began playing several minor roles in a number of television programs, for example in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Ally McBeal. In 2010, she appeared in an episode of the Columbia Broadcasting System sitcom Rules of Engagement. Doty has a recurring role as Jess, a lesbian bartender at The Alibi Room, on the Showtime series Shameless.
In 2013, Doty played Noel—the ex-girlfriend of the main character David—in the highly acclaimed film Nebraska (2013).
