Mitoma Masao

Background

Mitoma was born in Fukuoka Prefecture.

Career

Mitoma graduated from Tokyo Higher Normal School (1922). Served at Saga Normal School and Tokyo Higher Normal School and later toured Europe and America inspecting and studying industrial arts and architecture (1937-38). Became a professor of Tokyo Higher Normal School (1941).

Served as director of Gakk Hoso Kenkyukai (School Broadcasting Research Society) of Education Ministry and thereafter assumed his present posts.

  • His works were accepted for exhibition at Teiten once and at Jitten twice. Books include Zokei Kydiku Genri (Fundamental Principles of Teaching of Creative Arts), Zuga Kosaku Kydiku (Teaching of Drawing and Handicraft) and Shmcho Biiku Taikei (A Collection of Data on Teaching of Arts, Shmcho Publishing Company).
