Mitsuzo Waki was born in 1880 in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
Mitsuzo Waki finished Middle School at Nihon and studied Chinese at Tobungakusha School in Peking.
Mitsuzo Waki joined the editorial staff of North China Daily News and wrote under the pen name of Kado. During the Russo-Japanese war in 1904'1905, he together with six others, including Teisuke Oki, became secret agents, and attempted to blow up the bridge in the River Amur. They were, however, detached by Cossack Cavalrymen of Russia and in the ensuing skirmish Oki and another named Yokogawa were taken prisoners, while the others escaped. In making the second attempt on the bridge, Mitduzo was killed at Kulun in April 15, 1904.
