He was from Ghouchan, a city in Khorasan. He was master of Nastaliq script. He has written several books about calligraphy and also a book about calligrapher"s biographies.

He published a collection of his calligraphy works in a book named Darj-e Javaher. Mirza Sanglakh died on the Friday 3rd of march 1877 at the age of 106 in Tabriz and was buried in this city.
