He was India"s High Commissioner to Pakistan in 1951. He was Vice Chancellor of University of Rajasthan in 1960. He did a lot of work in field of adult education.
He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civil decoration of India.

He was devan of Princely state of Banswara and a member of Constituent Assembly of India in 1947.
