A native of Parit, Perak, completed his primary and secondary education from January 1979 to December 1991 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Tenggala Bota Kanan (Primary), Sekolah Menengah Datuk Abdul Rahman Yaakub Bota (Secondary) and later Sekolah Menengah Iskandar Shah (Secondary) all in Parit Perak. He completed his school studies after obtaining his Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia.
After obtaining his STPM results, he went overseas to further his studies in Swansea Institute of Higher or now known as Swansea Metropolitan University graduated in 1997.
Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya pursued a Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2002.
He is also the Deputy Chief of UMNO Youth Putrajaya Branch. Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya is also actively involved in non-governmental and charity work locally and internationally. Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya is the Press Secretary for the Minister of Tourism Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor from 2006 to 2008.
He worked as a Customer Support Senior Executive for Bernama from 1994 to 2006.
As an Member, Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya is vocal in expressing his views and a competent critic of the UMNO Youth leadership. In one particular incident, Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya called upon all UMNO of whom was from the Galas parliament to back home and vote for Barisan Nasional in the 2010 Galas by-election.
Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya he criticized Khairy Jamaluddin, the UMNO Youth Chief, and asked the later to step down from his post. Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya stated that Khairy failed as an UMNO Youth Chief and should step down as his position can be taken by others who are more capable to lead.
Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya is also involved in international sporting events.
