Aleinikov Moisei Nikiforovich was born on November 16, 1885, in Manino village, Zadonsky district, Voronezh province, Russian Federation and died April 30, 1964, Moscow. He came from the family of an employee.
He graduated from the Moscow Technical School (1914).
In 1907-1917, he was the editor of the Moscow magazine Sine-photo, Projector and one of the organizers of the artistic collective Rus (1918-1923). In 1926-1933 he worked at the film studio Sovkino / Soyuzkino. He was the editor at the Mosfilm studio (1936-1944).
He was the author of books published in Moscow Intelligent Cinematography (1912-1914, volume 1-2), Practical Guide to Cinematography (1916, together with IN Ermoliev), The Ways of Soviet Cinema and the Moscow Art Theater (1947), Yakov Protazanov (1961). A fragment from Aleinikov's Notes of the Cinematographer (kept in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art) was published in the magazine The Art of Cinema (1996, No. 7). He was engaged in literary activity. Together with E.I. Yakhnina wrote a historical story for young people: Cree Cree (Moscow, Leningrad, 1940, revised edition was published under the title Charlot Bantar, Moscow, Leningrad, 1951, Moscow, 1984), Seventy two days (Moscow, Leningrad, 1953, Moscow, 1976), The Enraged Land (Moscow, 1957, 1996).
