Career
From 1905 took part in Jewish worker’s movement, first as a member of the Social-Democratic Party of Poland and Lith and later as a member of the Bund. Before 1917 arrested many times and imprisoned. 1919 joined Communist Party.
Served in Red Army as member, Revol-Military Council 6th Army. Later held Party posts: secretary, Kuban’-Black Sea Oblast Committee. Secretary, Central Committee, Communist Party Turkestani.
From 1923 Collegium member, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Education. Wrote various articles on promoting the Party and cultural development. Arrested by State Securi- 157 ty organs.
