Amerkhous was born in 1984 and spent his childhood in Evry (a city of Essonne, France).

After his high school graduation, he pursued a BTS degree (French diploma for high level computer technicians in two years) in Evry.
His very first interests were nature, geography, playing soccer with friends around the block. He was accepted in Miage in September 2005, a famous computer science department which belongs to Paris 12 Val de Marne University. He pursued a bachelor and then a master"s degree (graduation in September 2008) in parallel of an apprenticeship for a world leader company which produces ophthalmic optical equipment, Essilor.
Number one knows exactly when Amerkhous played this game for the first time, but it is clear that one of his roommates, one day of early 2008, gave him the passion for this game.
That still unidentified comrade taught him the basics of 3x3x3 Rubik"s Cube. Monir competed in the Rubik"s Cube French Open organised by the World Cube Association and which took place in Paris the 15th and 16 March 2008.
Foreign his first competition, he took the Moroccan national record in 3x3x3 with his best time of 2:01.05. He immediately said in public after his record "I swear I"ll will beat the 2 minutes barrier.

Monir now lives and works in Manaus, Brazil. He is very happy.
