Moon Pil Shim studied at the School of Fine Arts of the Young-Nam University, South Korea.
Moon Pil Shim presents his artworks regularly at the public museums and private galleries in Paris, France as well as in other European countries and in his native Korea. So, the artist exhibited at such galleries as Galerie Kandler, Galerie de la Marine, Banque Populaire Atlantique, Galerie AL/MA (France), Shilla Gallery and Maximilianpark Elektrozentrale (Germany), Seoul Museum of Art (South Korea), Lee-Bauwens Gallery (Belgium) and Galerie Simoncini (Luxembourg).
Despite his painting activity, the artist work on some public orders designing different buildings in France, among which are the Odyssée Cultural Center in Dol de Bretagne (2009), Lycée Jules-Lecesne (2011) in Le Havre, Saint-Vincent de Paul School (2011) in Marseille, the Ecomuseum of the Avesnois (2011) in Fourmies and EPC of the Marseille Ministry of Justice.
Nowadays, the artist lives and works in Essonne, France.

The collections of Shims’ creations are presented at Daegu Art Museum, the Seoul Museum of Art, National Museum of Contemporary Art, all three in South Korea, Miramas Art Library, Art Library of Nantes and Municipal Fund for Contemporary Art of the City of Paris, all in France, and the Center of art Dominique Lang (Luxembourg).
