Moriosa Nashimoto-no-miya was born in in 1819 in Kyoto, Japan. He was the 10th son of Prince Sadataka Fushimi-no-Miya.

Moriosa Nashimoto-no-miya was born in in 1819 in Kyoto, Japan. He was the 10th son of Prince Sadataka Fushimi-no-Miya.
He entered the Emmanin Temple and then succeeded to the House of Kajii-no-Miya. Was made Chief Priest of the Ten-dai Sect by order of the Emperor. In 1868, he returned to secular life at the Imperial command and resumed the name of Moriosa and founded the House of Nashimoto-no-Miya (1870) in accordance with the will of Emperor Meiji. He died in 1881.
He became son-in-law of Emperor Kokaku.
Prince Moriosa adopted Prince Kikumaro Yamashina-no-Miya as his heir but he returned to the House of Yamashina-no-Miya. Prince Moriosa, fourth son of Prince Tomohiko Kuni-no-Miya, succeeded Prince Moriosa as head ol the House of Nashimoto-no-Miya.
