Career
He was a popular concert performer in Israel in the 1950s and later became a successful recording artist in the United States, in addition to his primary career foci of cantoring and scholarship. Considered by some as the "last of the great cantors". Moshe Taube was born in Krakow, Poland, in 1927.
His musical studies began there at a young age.
He immigrated to the United States in 1957, and studied music at Juilliard. In 1965, he became Cantor at Congregation Beth Shalom, in Pittsburgh.
In 1971, he became Adjutant Professor of Music at Duquesne University. Taube taught at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
