Ordained Lutheran ministry, 1861. Pastor Sunbury, Pennsylvania, 1861-1865, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, 1865-1869, Saint Mark’s Lutheran, Saint Louis, from 1871, and now pastor emeritus same. President General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1885-1886.
