Mossi Raz

Born in Jerusalem, during his Israel Defense Forces national service Raz served as a commander in the elite Maglan unit where he continues to serve as a reserve major. An activist, Raz has served as secretary general of Peace Now and director of the non-profit organisation Ir Shalem. However, he entered the Knesset on 25 February 2000 as a replacement for Haim Oron.
Six elections in a row, he missed the Knesset by only one seat.
On a previous occasion, Raz paid a condolence call to the family of Palestinian Authority Minister. He was questioned by the police for managing an illegal radio station.

A Likud Member of Knesset, MK Miki Zohar (Likud) claimed Raz justifies attacks on Israelis. He urged members of Raz"s party to “condemn MKs who go on terrorist flotillas and Mossi Raz, who, on the day of the attack, wrote that it was because of settlements.”.
